I'm looking for the unexpected. I'm looking for things I've never seen before. - Robert Mapplethorpe

Today I finally revealed my wonderfully fluffy, furry vest to my small liberal arts campus and.....all was good :) I guess that is one of the positives of attending such a accepting and creative school; my fashion choices never get ridiculed. Another positive is that we get to take 4 hour long classes on the subject of landscape photography.

My first class today was definitely a test of my ability to stay in one seat for 4 hours straight and I have to say that by the end of class I was ready to run out of there. Not that the class wasn't enjoyable, but that is just too long. On the plus side I saw 2 movies; one on Ansel Adams, the premiere landscape photographer in America, and the second on Edward Burtynsky. Both were fascinating, and strangely funny, but the Edward Burtynsky video, Manufactured Landscapes, was especially intriguing. He approached the idea of landscape photography from an industrial angle; he showcases the many ways human life has affected the natural landscape of the world. Very interesting.
